What's New About The New Joy FM?

· New morning team

Joy FM launched a brand new morning show on Monday, September 3rd! The morning JoyRide consists of Daniel Britt, Melody Vaughn and Candi Chandler. All three are dedicated believers and share a love for Southern Gospel. Candi is eager to talk about her new puppy named Daisy. She’ll also share a daily devotional. Melody is a laugh a minute. Her husband and two teenage children have already threatened her if she starts sharing stories about them on the air. Daniel is the quarterback of the morning show. Coming all the way from Atlanta, Georgia, he is a nationally respected Southern Gospel announcer. You’ll appreciate his knowledge of the music but wait till you meet his wife and adorable little one year old son! He’ll melt your heart!

On the front page of our website, you’ll notice a link for the Joy Reel. Click on it and you’ll be minutes away from laughing or crying! We’ve scoured the web to find videos of your favorite artists. We have video from Mark Lowry and even puppets doing an old Statesmen number. You’ll also get to meet staff members as they tell you the joke of the week. Check the Joy Reel often...

· Neighborhoods & Nations

The staff is so excited about this new ministry venture. Joy FM wants to be a river and not a pond. Our desire is to impact lives across the world and right here in our own backyard. We’ll start doing that with our first ministry project: we’ll be asking you to partner with us to send Bibles to Cambodia. The people of Cambodia desperately need to hear the gospel and since the government does not allow missionaries to share the gospel – we can help by sending Bibles. We believe that where the Word of God goes…lives are changed! In late November, we will partner with local Crisis Pregnancy Centers and collect supplies such as blankets, diapers and other baby needs. Why? These young mothers need to see the love of Christ in action. Together – we can show them that love.

Why does Joy FM exist? Joy Fm exists to impact Neighborhoods and Nations with the gospel; to encourage & entertain listeners with the best Southern gospel music; to generate revenue for operations and expansion; to provide employees the opportunity to impact the world; to be the hub of information and activities for the Christian community; and to honor the legacy of its founders.

· Three Year Vision

What are some goals of Joy FM? In three years, Joy FM will strive to accomplish the following: Have 50 affiliates across the nation; Be named the Gospel Music Station of the Year; Be a strategic part of national concerts and events; Utilize available technology to its maximum capacity; Increase revenue so expansion can occur; Impact ten nations with the gospel through Neighborhoods & Nations projects and impact lives through partnering with 15 local ministry organizations

· New Manager: Brian Sanders

Coming to Winston-Salem via New Orleans, Brian is no stranger to Southern Gospel. Having worked in Christian radio in both Atlanta and New Orleans, he knows the people of this industry. He and his wife, Kayla, are very involved in the college ministry at their local church. On any given Thursday night, you’ll find their home packed with over 20 students hovering over a kettle of Cajun food. You can also find them in their neighborhood taking their only “child” for a walk….Sprocket is a 50 pound beagle / lab mix.
