Unity Day at Joy FM

Unity Day at Joy FM

Charlottesville is in our backyard.
Joy FM is there!
When the events occurred, we immediately put promos on the air encouraging unity and pointing people to Jesus.
We also launched a Facebook campaign.
We’ve tried to give a few days to allow the tension and public rhetoric to die down a bit before we took the airwaves with a discussion about Jesus.
And so today…a public discussion about Jesus and race will happen….every station and app we have…
We have taken to the airwaves today to have this discussion.
We won’t be discussing the president or his words.
We won’t be dealing with which political party has the right answer.
Want to know what we’ll be dealing with?
Jesus.
He said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35)
There’s Revelation 7:9 that reads, “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”
So today…
we’ll be asking listeners on every single station to call in and pray for healing and peace…
we’ll be asking them to call and respond to this, “What are you doing to help your kids see people as Jesus sees them?”
We’ll be asking, “How can we encourage each other to love one another?”
We’re having these conversations…not in some abstract fashion.
This didn’t happen far away.
This is home.
This area is where we live.
Would you pray the Joy FM team would be bold, kind, loving and point people to Jesus?
Would you pray we would represent Him well?
Would you pray we would endure criticism with a smile?
Would you pray God would stir and break hearts?
We must press in…
We must have these conversations…
It’ll be hard…
But easy never changed the world.
And God knows…this world needs changing.

If you don’t live in one of our communities, you can download the free app. You can listen and participate in the conversation.
